Centre for Interaction in Sport, Cookstown Road, Omagh

Work commenced in May 2000 on a fourteen acre site which required major earth works to incorporate sand based grass carpets, synthetic, soccer, gaelic, rugby, and hockey playing fields together with a 400metre, eight lane athletics running track with full flood lighting and a centre for community and sporting interacton.

The design of the building was conceived of semi circles, staggered and bisected by a concourse 2.1m wide and locked together by a cubic hub.

Each semi circle is given distinct uses: one for sport education incorporating a seminar room, a lecture room, administration offices, cafeteria and the other for physical sports incorporating male, female, disabled and referee shower and changing facilities.
